Create an image mask

Image MASACA

Pictures to make masks here

Let's create our own masks, bearing in mind that will serve any of the images that usually work, whatever they are. Best of all, a very simple way.

1 º Open the image you would like to have as a mask and depart on one side of the screen. Remember ... resize if over 400/400 ;) OK?

2 nd now open a new one filled with a color that we like. We now have two images, we want to make a mask and a background color to your liking.

Located on the 3 rd to fill it with color to our liking: Go to Layers (Layers in Castilian) New mask layer / from a Picture:

4 ° We see a window where we must consider several things: Set the name of the image that comes by default, is that we are located, in this case, on which we filled with our name: Image23 to you I will go with another name, the image that you may be using ;)

And I want to make mask, is the Image3, well, opening the takeoff, the select.

Check the box Invert mask data. (This is optional and will depend on what we want as a result, but try and choose as you like. Also later we make this change) and give OK. The result is the following:

5 In Layers are now going to save as maks (extension using the PSP for the masks), the original image, we can now close it. But before saving, if we click on: Invert Mask / Adjustament, we can see, as I said before as another option will be the mask, we see a little change in shooting mine. If we do not like change, just go to undo img 5

And continue to Load / Save Mask

We see this new window. We shall put a name, you want and save.

We can find the file with our mask, in the folder that we intended to do so. And there will be for when we need it.

6 ° If you want to use this mask you have created ... to save, go to the Layers palette and clicking on one of them display a submenu, go to Merge / Merge and Merge Group.

mask grup

Save the result jpg format, taking into account the weight and quality. Remember that we did several institutes where you see this. And yet you can go to them, if you do not remember how to do it ;)

So I hope this tutorial will be useful and that from now wish to obtain anyone to create your own Mask.

Hi Sonia, even if it seems that nothing happened if you did well every step, your mask should be stored in the default folder that is created when you install the PSP, regardless of version.
To see if you go to Layers / load or save masks and choose to load instead of saving, yes?
    There should be your mask

    Thank you ;)

Greetings: A while ago looking for a well explained tutorial as you have presented. I want to learn to use this program (PSPX2) to make some montages for entertainment. But the truth is that you use the program and watching your tutorials I think I can learn. Congratulations on your effort and kindness. Receive a warm greeting from Puerto Rico.
